Coins       Replicated Coins are also the product of the research and talent of Illustrator Ken C. Yang, without whose effort the significant cultural presentation contained herein would not have been possible.
The replicated coins are 5/24ths of a Teal of the Tang Dynasty, 621-975 AD. This coin is generally considered to be "Good Luck." The Teal is no longer of any equitable monetary value, although they are certainly collector pieces. Coins relating to 5 units of a monetary value are considered to bring the Good Fortune associated with the 5th Line of the Hexagram. We invite you to use such coins representing 5 units within your own national monetary system. In the United States a 5-cent coin or "Nickel" will serve to invite this same "Good Fortune" upon yourself.
Prior to the period represented by the depicted coins Chinese coins were generally blank on one side and inscribed on the other side with the monetary value. The inscribed side became the representation of the Earthly value and was assigned the number "TWO - 2." The blank side became the representation of the Heavenly value and was assigned the number "THREE -3." "Heads" became YIN and designated as 2. "Tails" became YANG and designated as 3.
We have indicated our preference regarding the use of "Heads" and "Tails" of the coins and ask you to note that it makes no absolute difference, as long as you are consistent, as to which side you use to represent "Heads" or "Tails," since these coins are merely the instrument you are using to seek intuitive answers to your questions.
Because Mr. Yang has done such a fine job in replicating the coin we have including the wording "NOT LEGAL TENDER" on the coin to preclude confusion between it and any token of monetary or collector value.
