| AT SEA SUBMARINE ALARMS, USS SHARK and USS LAFAYETTE | ||
| The USS Shark, being constructed in the early
days of Nuclear Submarines and close to the end of Fleet and Guppy-2A Submarine
operations, had the Diving, Collision and General Alarms that were typical to Diesel
Submarines of that era. The Shark did not originally have a Reactor Casualty Alarm
installed. As Shark was a Fast Attack Submarine she carried no missiles, nor
Missile Emergency and Jettison Alarms. |

| With the construction and commissioning of the USS Lafayette, SS(B)N 616, a new series of alarms were introduced. The Shark may have been outfitted with newer sounding alarms at a shipyard deployment. | ||
